Whatever is produced offshore can also be produced at Pierce’s U.S. facility. Therefore, if continuity of supply from an offshore source is disrupted, as can happen for many reasons outside their control, Pierce is in a position to step in and assure a continued flow of product.

Pierce has many machining and fabrication capabilities in addition to those described elsewhere (see inertia welding and PierceFORMING™).

Tight Tolerance Cylindrical Turnings
Pierce continually provides rollers holding up to 0.0006-0.0008" composite run-out from journal to OD and sizes ranging up to 8" in diameter and 60" long. Pierce machining is supported by 11 turning centers; four axis, high speed spindle, and large capacity.

Milling

Fixturing and Tooling
Pierce has in-house tooling and fixturing design and design support. A fully supported in-house tool room with lathes, mills, surface grinders, cut-off saw, and honing equipment provides excellent tooling and fixturing fabrication.

Prototype and Short Run
In today’s market, development time must be reduced. Pierce prides itself on helping you get prototypes and short runs to your test lab. Our customers have benefited with a 3-5 day turnaround to keep their designs on schedule. Our customers also take advantage of our engineering staff to improve manufacturability and reduce costs right from the start.

Cleaning know-how and equipment
The cleaning of parts is a critical element for most of the parts Pierce produces. We have the knowhow and capability to develop a cleaning process specific to your requirements.

The Pierce Cleaning Center features a number of capabilities:

• Ability to clean various metal substrates
• Jet washing
• Sonic cleaning
• Application of rust proofing to cleaned substrates
• OD and ID cleaning
• Metal preparation for secondary operations
