Will
you provide references?
Yes we will. We have a number of long term customers that we would be pleased
to direct you to as well as a growing number of newer customer relationships.
What
is your area of coverage for U.S. customers?
Pierce works with
customers throughout North America.
Is
distance a problem?
Occasionally this is an issue; however, we overcome it in most
instances by adding compensating value through our unique processes.
How
can you compete with off-shore suppliers?
We can’t in all cases. However, we do provide support for
proto-type work, and production runs, where turnaround time and
manufacturing flexibility is essential. Part production innovation
and assembly processes have proven to provide significant competitive
advantages in most applications.
Do
you work with offshore suppliers to satisfy your customers’ needs.?
Yes, we source many of our base materials and parts globally to secure lower
costs. Also, we have a number of manufacturing partners around the world and
can transfer production to them if the economics are compelling. Whatever is
produced by one of our manufacturing sources offshore can also be produced by
Pierce so continuity of supply is assured in the event there is a disruption
of supply.
Do
you insist on doing it all; assembly and parts manufacturing?
We realize that our customers need to keep their options open.
But, where it makes sense (to reduce your overall vendor base)
we are capable and willing to take on part of, or the entire process
of manufacture and assembly.

Why
does Pierce have so many engineers?
We have strengthened our engineering staff in response to our customer’s
requirements. During the last decade our customers have asked us
to do more problem solving and manufacturing engineering
Do
you have a quality department?
We have a staff of specialists that provide in process and end
of line inspections. Our QA staff works closely with our other
engineers and our manufacturing technicians to ensure we achieve
produced value... every time!
What
quality documentation do you provide?
We will work closely with you to provide what you require. We are
capable of providing a variety of information, from a simple Certificate
of Conformance to actual measured data, collection with CP & CPK
levels calculated. Histograms and trend charts are also available.
Is
Pierce Industries ISO registered?
No, Pierce has not found a need to be ISO registered at this time.
We understand very well the requirements of ISO compliance and
make every attempt to conduct our business in an ISO like manner. Do
you do prototype work?
Yes. We are known to provide high value when customers are developing
new products and can count on us to apply our skills to first time
applications.
If
you do prototype, then can you also provide production runs?
Yes, we are a fully integrated manufacturing facility that is completely
capable of moving directly from prototype to production quantity
manufacturing with quick turnaround and short lead times. We can
even help you source off-shore manufacturing, if that is what’s
determined to be the best fit.
What
is it like to do business with Pierce?
In terms of contact, we have customer relations specialists and
customer applications engineers that will be in direct contact
with you. Our entire employee base is customer oriented and willing
to respond to any question or need you may have. We don’t
have a commissioned sales staff, as many of the applications we
tackle
require engineered solutions. In many cases, savings are achieved
through our ability to takes steps out of the work process. We
are a process oriented company that keeps pace with the latest
practices.
It
seems as though you are machining cylindrically oriented, so will
you work
with flat stock/parts?
You are right, we do emphasize cylindrical turnings, and we provide
high value and expertise in this type of machining. We do, however,
provide flat stock machining and/or coatings as well.
Do
you back up your work?
We deliver to your specifications,
and, of course we guarantee
our
work—we're proud of it.
What
kind of tolerances can you hold?
Our manufacturing processes have proven through time that we are
capable of holding diameters to ± 0.00025," with surface
finishes as low as 4Å„µi ra and Over-All-lengths
are regularly held to ± 0.0020" runout to ± 0.0008".
